We have many jigsaw puzzles (500-1000 pieces) in prime condition.

Do you know of anywhere we might donate them?

A.We contacted Jackson Health System and a spokeswoman said that the Mental Health Hospital at Jackson Memorial will gladly accept your donation of jigsaw puzzles.

Items such as puzzles are used regularly by occupational, behavioral and recreational therapists in their therapeutic groups with patients of all ages. They are used to promote concentration, self-esteem, team-building and socialization, the spokeswoman said via e-mail.

Patients are also encouraged to use puzzles in their free time so they can learn how to become involved in healthy leisure activities, she said.
