No more listening to TV on FM radio
Q. I miss listening to NBC on FM 87.7 during my work commute. All I hear now is instructions about the digital converter box. What happened?
Will the regular broadcast ever be back?
-- Greg Anderson, Miami Beach
A. It used to be that radio listeners could hear Channel 6 (whether NBC or something else) anywhere in the country.
This strange anomaly was due to the fact that the channel's dial position on the broadcast spectrum was at the bottom of the radio band.
With the digital transition, television no longer uses this band.
Though we would love to listen to TV on the radio, unfortunately that is no longer possible.
