THE TOYS OF SUMMER: While traveling, no need search out a TV or computer to check how your favorite baseball team's game is going. Just pull out your SportsCast Wireless Baseball Scoreboard, a 6-inch by 4.5-inch by 1-inch-thick electronic scorecard, with no fees or subscription costs. The one-pound devices keeps track of inning-by-inning line scores via satellite signal on its 5.25-inch LCD screen. Just push a button to select the MLB game you want to follow (it covers all games from pre-season to World Series, including future seasons, with no expiration date). While tracking a game, the monitor also can show stats and standings for other MLB teams, five teams at a time, or, with a toggle of the switch, a team's next six games, including starting pitchers and whether the game is home or away. It updates every half inning and ever 15 minutes. Coverage is about 90 percent of the United States. The device has a built-in kick stand, self-setting clock, and runs on four AA batteries (not included).
DETAILS: SportsCast Wireless Baseball Scoreboard (Item 572859) is $99 at www.brookstone.com; 866-576-7337.
