TRAVEL UPDATE
HAWAII VOLCANO
The March eruption in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park's Halemaumau Crater continues to cause some havoc, at least for visitors to the island. The 20-mile road that winds its way down to the sea from the top of Kilauea has been closed intermittently, and the entire park has been closed on certain days as well, mainly because of the detection of dangerous levels of sulfur dioxide gas. Hawaii visitors are advised to stay abreast of developments. The park has a recorded message that changes daily (808-961-8093) and updates on its website (www.nps.gov/havo).
