CALIFORNIA: FRENCH TWIST

The OohLaLA Festival is bringing a bit of la France to L.A. this month in the first edition of what's hoped to become an annual three-day French music showcase. Taking over the Henry Fonda Theatre Sept. 23-25, the show opens with emerging talent from the indie pop/rock and folk scenes, including a performance from dance-pop provocateur Sébastien Tellier. Night No. 2 belongs to the radical, loungey reinterpretations of Nouvelle Vague, and the fest closes out with a serious collection of intercontinental, premiere party-starters manning the decks. Tickets are $25 a night, or $65 for a three-day pass. Additional facility fees apply.
