Marjie Lambert, a passionate traveler, foodie and long-time journalist, has been named The Miami Herald's new Travel editor.
Lambert, 55, has been a newspaper reporter and editor at The Miami Herald, Sun-Sentinel and Sacramento Bee, among others, and is the author of eight cookbooks. She also edits The Miami Herald's Home & Design section.
Lambert says her most memorable travel experiences were driving a 400-mile gravel road to dip her fingers in the Arctic Ocean at Prudhoe Bay, Alaska; going to cooking school in Tuscany; and discovering in 60 feet of water off the Great Barrier Reef that she was not meant to snorkel.
Expect such popular features as Quick Trips, the Travel Troubleshooter and the Destinations page to continue.
In addition, a new vacation-at-home feature for the Travel section, with local deals and diversions, debuts today.
You can reach Lambert at 305-376-4939 or mlambert@MiamiHerald.com; press releases should be sent to travpress@MiamiHerald.com.
