Writers' guidelines for family travel stories

The Miami Herald often seeks stories on traveling with children. In too many of the stories we see, the children seem like an afterthought rather than an integral part of the story. Good things to include in your story are:

* Quotes and anecdotes that tell the story from the child’s view. * Planning information from the parents, including itinerary changes designed to suit the kids’ needs. * An evaluation of the trip: What did and didn’t work well, both from the kids’ viewpoint and the parents’. What would each do differently next time? * Tips from both parents and kids * Photos including children in active situations
