CRUISING FOR THE WEEKEND
Posted on Sun, Jun. 01, 2008
Don't tarry. Thanks to new Homeland Security regulations, passengers must be on board 90 minutes prior to sailing.
More tips: Speed up the boarding process by submitting your passport number and other information online in advance.
Want spa appointments or a seat in a reservations-only restaurant? Board early and go directly to the desk for each.
The busiest boarding time is 12-1 p.m., say local travel agents. Go slightly later to avoid the rush.
Travel lightly. If you carry your own bags off the ship, most lines will let you disembark first thing on Monday.
