Holland America’s ms Eurodam came out of dry dock in December with a load of new features: two new music venues, a bar with a menu of cocktails created by a celebrity mixologist, upgraded suites, a pizzeria and a revamped buffet.
The cruise line showed off the new features at Port Everglades this week at the start of the SeaTrade Cruise Global convention in Fort Lauderdale — a bit of a preview of what’s to come on the line’s newest ship, ms Koningsdam, launching next month in Europe, then sailing out of Fort Lauderdale starting in November.
The biggest change on the 8-year-old Eurodam is the addition of the Music Walk, a trio of music venues that will also be on the Koningsdam and will be added to some of the rest of the fleet when they go into dry dock for a regular overhaul.
The three are B.B. King’s Blues Club, which was already on the Eurodam; Lincoln Center stage, where musicians will play primarily classical music mixed with show tunes and pop music, in a partnership with the performing arts center in New York; and Billboard Onboard, with combinations of two singing pianists, a guitarist and a DJ performing chart-topping hits of the last 50 years as chronicled by Billboard.
Never miss a local story.
Classical music has always been an important part of the Holland America story.

Also on the Eurodam, a nightclub was converted into the Gallery Bar, so named because of the eclectic mix of artwork hanging on its walls. In addition, mixologist Dale DeGroff created a menu of cocktails for the Gallery Bar. DeGroff is a 2015 James Beard Who’s Who inductee, and founding president of The Museum of the American Cocktail.
The new New York Pizza offers personal-size thin crust pizzas, salads and desserts.
The Lido buffet has been revamped, with themed stations such as the Breadboard, ADistant Lands, Wild Harvest and Sweet Spot.
And Eurodam was the first ship to receive suite upgrades that are planned for all the line’s ships — new furniture, carpet, wall covering, updated bathrooms, LED reading lights and more.
