Always on the look-out for a better bathrobe that won’t hog packing space but will envelope me in soft warmth, I’ve found welcome accommodation with the new Cocoon Unisex Travel Robe.
Made of a polyester/nylon mix that feels like soft chamois against the skin, the knee-length robe does a good job of absorbing water, while drying quickly because of its microfiber composition. The high soak quotient means the robe can double as a big towel.
The designers added some classy tailoring at the neck and large front hip pouch; sturdy belt loops at the sides secure the long matching waist sash. The robe comes in lime green or blue, and stuffs into an included mesh sack. Men’s and women’s size equivalents are provided to minimize guessing. This is not the lightest-weight travel robe around (the XXL size weighs in at more than a pound), but it won’t wimp out when the going gets wet.
Cocoon Unisex Travel Robe in blue or lime is $89 at www.travelsmith.com.
