Why the Oscars are giving plastic surgery a bad rap

As I watched the Oscars last week, I was appalled by what I saw. Every year after the Oscars I always get the same question: If those people have so much money, why do they look so bad with their plastic surgery?

As I watched the Oscars last week, I was appalled by what I saw. Every year after the Oscars I always get the same question: If those people have so much money, why do they look so bad with their plastic surgery?

The simple answer is you don’t have to look like that. I guess the more extreme plastic surgery you have, the more likely you are to be tweeted or talked about. After all, any publicity is better than no publicity at all, according to Hollywood types.

But I don’t believe that.

Rather, I believe that plastic surgery and all nonsurgical treatments such as Botox, Dysport, Restylane, Juvederm, Voluma and all others are only as good as the physician administering it. In fact, many in the audience — including those who won Oscars — had excellent plastic surgery but weren’t noticed because they had seen great doctors.

Take home message — seek out quality doctors who have your aesthetic bias. Don’t go for cheap because that’s what you’ll get. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, some of these people actually think they look good!
