SNACK
GARLIC-PARMESAN
PITA CHIPS
Start to finish: under 15 minutes.
Cooking oil spray
2 (7- to 8-inch) whole-wheat or white pita-bread rounds
1 ½ tablespoons melted butter
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
Heat the oven to 425 degrees. Spray a baking sheet with cooking oil and set aside.
Cut each pita round in half and, using your fingers, separate each half into two thin pieces. Brush each side with the melted butter, and stack several on top of each other. Using a pizza cutter, slice each into four wedges. Place in a single layer on the baking sheet. Sprinkle on cheese, garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until crisp and golden brown. Cool on pan. Serve with dip or spread of choice. Makes 32 chips.
