Cook's Corner Recipe: White French Dressing

CONDIMENT

WHITE FRENCH DRESSING

1 cup best quality mayonnaise

1/4 cup finely grated onion

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon plus 2 teaspoons white or white wine vinegar

1 tablespoon, or to taste, sugar

Place mayonnaise in a bowl. Grate the onion on the grater disk of a food processor or the large holes of a box grater, and then mince finely by hand. Add to mayonnaise. Add mustard, vinegar and sugar and stir well. Cover and refrigerate overnight before using. Makes about 1 cup.

Per tablespoon: 103 calories (94 percent from fat), 10.9 g fat (1.2 g saturated, 1.8 g monounsaturated), 8.1 mg cholesterol, 0.2 g protein, 1.5 g carbohydrates, 0.1 g fiber, 82.1 mg sodium.
