Combine coffee and milk with the active ingredients in Viagra and Cialis and what do you get?
Two weeks after the recall of a coffee with a similar element to sildenafil, which powers Viagra, AMPT Coffee has been recalled after the FDA found it contained not only sildenafil, but tadalafil, the good stuff in Cialis. You’d think that would be a boon for an instant coffee marketed as a sexual enhancement product. The problem is none of this is stated on the packaging.
Neither is milk named, a rather large issue for those with milk allergies. On its own, any undeclared allergen usually is enough to spur a recall.
Also, as the Viagra and Cialis commercials warn in the verbal fine print, sildenafil and tadalafil each can cause dangerously low blood pressure in those who take prescription drugs with nitrates for other health problems. Doctors prescribe such medications for diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heart disease among other problems.
AMPT Coffee came in red packets inside a red box and was sold via the internet. The company asks customers to discard the remaining coffee, but mentioned nothing in its recall notice about a refund. Those with questions can e-mail The AMPT Life, LLC at firstname.lastname@example.org.
