An eclectic boutique caters to Kore clientele

''Our client is open-minded and urban,'' says 29-year-old Danny Sanchez, owner of Kore boutique on Miami's Biscayne Corridor. ''You won't find her partying every week at South Beach clubs, but you'll probably see her hanging out in the Design District,'' he adds while thumbing through clothing racks and chatting with store manager Natallye Alzerreca, 21, about sales and inventory.

The store is stocked with cheap-chic clothing, shoes, and accessories, all from Los Angeles and priced under $110. Brands like Rubber Ducky, Sole Mio, Do&Be, The Hanger and Lush are best-sellers.

''Both Natallye and I select the merchandise,'' says Sanchez. ''I can be very simple and she is more Bohemian, but we work good together. Plus, I know how Miami girls dress [since] I've been doing this for so long,'' he says.

Aside from owning Kore, which was in the Upper Eastside before it relocated four months ago, Sanchez has two others: Mia on Bird Road and Addict, slated to open Friday in North Miami Beach.

''I grew up in the fashion business,'' touts the St. Brendan alumnus, who ran his first store in Coconut Grove straight out of high school with his savings and some help from his parents. ''My grandmother use to sell Tahari suits when she came from Cuba and my mom worked in retail since she was 15,'' he says. Today, Sanchez's parents and sisters are all in the boutique biz.

''It's so much fun selling, especially here,'' says Sanchez of his spunky store, which caters to women from 20 to 40. The boutique is mostly bathed in white; everything from the walls to the tables to the dressing room curtains, giant lamps and a trio of chandeliers is monochromatic. The monotony is broken up by a lacquered-acetone stained floor, an unfinished ceiling where concrete juts out, an oversized curtain speckled with rainbow hues, and framed art work.

``A lot of my clients say my store reminds them of a store in Soho or London.''

On a Friday afternoon, several women peruse the racks for a weekend outfit. There are dresses like an orange and purple print frock by Collective Concept, flowy blouses such as a polka dot print top by Do&Be and a variety of this summer's ubiquitous maxi dresses.

Customer Lisa Alea, 29, shuffles in and out of the dressing room, heading straight to the store's gargantuan mirror to check out her look.

Clad in black satin shorts, a funky, multicolored blouse by Mustard Seed, and sparkly gold gladiator heels by Bertinni, Alea takes one look at her reflection and decides this is the outfit she will be wearing tonight.

''I'm taking it,'' she says. ``I just love the eclectic collection here.''

The shoe selection includes heels and bejeweled sandals by Bamboo. Nearby, an assortment of nameless bowling bags, purses and clutches all sit on top of tables.

''This is my favorite,'' gushes Alzerreca, pointing to a luxurious looking brown handbag.

''I try to pick vintage-looking types of bags,'' chimes in Sanchez.

Jewelry from oversized rings to charm bracelets and dainty necklaces is spread across the check out table. Miami Beach resident Emily Neuwirth, 13, and her mom were admiring the selection.

''I like the accessories,'' Emily says. ``Today, I'm buying two wish necklaces and I bought my bat mitzvah dress from here.''

As for shopping at his store, Sanchez offers one piece of advice.

''If you like it, buy it,'' he says. ``I only buy a few select pieces and what's here today will be gone tomorrow.''
