Q: Which supplements do you recommend?
A: To support muscle growth and overall health, there are several supplements to consider. Cost is always a factor so you will need to decide whether the price is worth it.
Multivitamin: A daily multivitamin will boost thousands of processes that occur in your body affecting mood, energy, strength, endurance, and recovery. This is a must for anyone looking to improve overall health.
Amino acids: Dietary amino acids come from consuming protein and fall into two categories: non-essential amino acids (which your body can produce on its own), and essential amino acids (which your body cannot produce and therefore requires as part of your diet). Failure to eat enough of any essential amino acid prevents your body from making the protein it needs to function, leading to tissue breakdown. If you want to build muscle, you need to make sure your body gets enough amino acids.
Glutamine: Studies have shown that this supplement reduces muscle breakdown and boosts recovery; save your hard-earned muscle!
Protein supplements: Take before, during, or post workout to boost nitrogen balance which increases muscle recovery. Adding more muscle increases your metabolism, meaning less fat on your body!
