The National Weather Service in Miami has issued an urban flood advisory for northeastern Miami-Dade Friday morning.
The advisory, which includes Hialeah, Aventura and North Miami Beach, is in effect until 9 a.m.
At 7:58 a.m., Aventura police reported 191st Street and Biscayne Boulevard remained closed.
Additional thunderstorms over the Everglades of Miami-Dade County will move over the same area during the next hour, which could lead to additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches. A flash flood warning may be needed for this area.
The rain has caused several crashes. The National Weather Service is asking drivers to avoid areas where the water covers the roadway to avoid drownings.
