Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Carolina Panthers released offensive guard Chris Scott, who started eight games for them last season.
Scott, who started the last two preseason games, was one of 22 roster moves the Panthers made Saturday to get down to 53 players before the deadline.
They made 17 cuts, including wide receiver Tavarres King and safety Robert Lester.
The Panthers also waived/injured tackle Kevin Hughes and reached injury settlements with tight end Mike McNeill and safety Anderson Russell.
