Kansas City, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The Kansas City Chiefs announced Monday the release of 11 players. Additionally, the team placed safety Sanders Commings on injured reserve.
Commings was drafted by the Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He played in just two games last season due to a broken collarbone.
The Georgia product broke his ankle during training camp this year, which required surgery.
Kansas City also released wide receivers Deon Anthony, Weston Dressler, Jerrell Jackson and Darryl Surgent, defensive lineman Jairus Campbell, defensive tackle Jermelle Cudjo, guard Otis Hudson, cornerbacks Brandon Jones and Vernon Kearney, safety Jerron McMillian and tight end Adam Schiltz.
The club's active roster currently sits at 78 players. Each NFL roster must be cut down to a maximum of 75 players by Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.
