Texans sign RB Ronnie Brown

Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Houston Texans signed veteran running back Ronnie Brown on Tuesday.

Brown, 32, rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown on 45 carries last season for the San Diego Chargers, playing all 16 games as a backup.

The former No. 2 draft pick has rushed for 5,328 yards and scored 40 total touchdowns over nine seasons for Miami, Philadelphia and San Diego.

The Texans also signed running back William Powell, who appeared in 13 games for Arizona in 2012.

They have released running backs Andre Brown, Tim Cornett and Dennis Johnson.
