Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin reportedly has a back injury that forced him to withdraw from the U.S. basketball team for this summer's FIBA World Cup.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Griffin has a small fracture in his back that won't require surgery. Instead, rest should heal the injury and allow Griffin to be ready for training camp in September.

Griffin was one of 19 players selected to the USA roster. The team will play in Spain at the event previously known as the World Championship from Aug. 30- Sept. 14.
