Raiders sign Deering

Napa, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Raiders signed safety Jeremy Deering on Monday.
Deering was originally signed by the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in May before being waived later in the month.
In four seasons at Rutgers, he played in 48 games, seeing action at running back, wide receiver, kick returner and safety. He finished his collegiate career with 130 rushes for 578 yards and two touchdowns, 21 receptions for 415 yards and one touchdown, 41 kickoff returns for 1,100 yards and one touchdown and 45 tackles (28 solo), one interception and one pass defensed.
