Blues sign Butler, Ferriero

St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The St. Louis Blues signed defenseman Chris Butler and forward Benn Ferriero to one-year, two-way contracts on Wednesday.
Butler, 27, played in all 82 games last season for the Calgary Flames, recording two goals and 14 assists.
The St. Louis native has totaled 10 goals and 65 assists over 349 career regular-season games in six seasons with Buffalo and Calgary.
Ferriero dressed in two games for the Vancouver Canucks last season, spending the majority of his playing time with Utica of the American Hockey League, where he tallied 19 goals and 10 assists in 54 games.
The 27-year-old, who was a national champion with Boston College in 2008, has racked up 14 goals and nine assists in 98 career NHL games across five seasons with the Sharks, Rangers and Canucks.
