Raleigh, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Carolina Hurricanes re-signed unrestricted free agent forward Jiri Tlusty to a one-year, $2.95 million contract on Tuesday.
Tlusty, 26, has been with the Hurricanes since being traded from the Toronto Maple Leafs in December 2009.
The former first-round pick registered 16 goals and 14 assists in 68 games last season. In 344 career games for Toronto and Carolina, Tlusty has amassed 73 goals and 69 assists.
The Hurricanes also agreed to terms with forward Brad Malone on a two-year contract. He split the past three seasons between the Colorado Avalanche and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters.
