Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - The Washington Capitals are reportedly set to host the Chicago Blackhawks for the 2015 Winter Classic.
The Capitals had been selected as the host last September, but an opponent was not yet determined.
According to the Washington Post and TSN of Canada, the Blackhawks will be the choice for the New Year's Day spectacle.
The location has apparently not yet been finalized, but both media outlets indicate that Nationals Park is the likely site.
Both teams have participated in the annual contest once before. The Capitals beat the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2011 edition at Heinz Field and the Blackhawks hosted the Detroit Red Wings at Wrigley Field in 2009.
