Ah, guava. That ubiquitous little fruit so many local chefs rely on to give dishes a decidedly Miami twist. It’s the same ingredient The Biltmore Spa (1200 Anastasia Avenue, Coral Gables) called upon when it developed one of its new signature treatments—Journey to Guavonia. Introduced as part of the recently revamped service menu at the iconic Coral Gables hotel’s seventh-floor spa, the full-body massage is named after the guava farm that, at the turn of the 20th century, occupied the land where the hotel now stands. Products used during the treatment are, naturally, guava-based and thus boast some of the same qualities as the beloved fruit, which is a great source of antioxidant vitamin C and a powerful collagen booster that can help skin stay taut and toned. The treatment, which also includes a raw sugar cane scrub and luxurious milk bath soak, isn’t the spa’s only food-inspired offering. There’s also a coconut milk and honey scrub, a chardonnay sugar scrub and a Moroccan orange peel manicure and pedicure. Hungry yet?
