Anyone can click on a website to book travel, but how many times does that result in a trip of a lifetime? Lisa Crawford founded SitInMySeats VIP Tickets, Travel & Concierge Services in Fort Lauderdale to personalize packages that blow away even the most jaded jet-setters, from the moguls to the politicos who make up her international clientele. “Beyond being available 24-7, it comes down to trust and loyalty,” says Crawford, who has representatives on the ground globally to source the best accommodations and experiences, on top of her in-house team with expertise in various niches like travel apps. “Luxury is just a word these days, so we work harder to earn that description.” Here, she shares recent itineraries that show why clients return time and again. Yes, Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus To convince their skeptical children that Santa really exists, a couple requested a family vacation to the North Pole—or at least as close to it as possible within realistic terms. So Crawford guided them to Lapland, Finland, at the Arctic Circle, where they visited the man himself at his official hometown of Rovaniemi in December. The winter wonderland fantasy began by the family checking into a private cabin in Santa’s festive holiday village. From there, they got to watch the Northern Lights on sleighs pulled by reindeer (aka North American caribou), cross-country ski and snowshoe with Santa’s elves, and tour Ranua Wildlife Park. But the real magic occurred when Santa himself delivered gifts.
Following in the Footsteps A film director wanted to pay tribute to his idol, Franco Zeffirelli, who’s known for film adaptations of Shakespeare plays Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet and The Taming of the Shrew. Through Crawford’s connections, he was able to stay not only in Zeffirelli’s former home, Villa Tre Ville, on a private stretch of beach along the Amalfi Coast, but its Maestro suite, the spacious sanctuary where the iconic visionary worked and whose curated furnishings hold significance in his life. She also hooked up her client with a local charter captain to soak up the good life in Positano style on a private, 58-foot yacht once owned by Zeffirelli. Fashion Week A client gifted her daughter who studies fashion with a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the industry in style capitals New York, Milan and Paris. Beyond the trappings of a great mother-daughter trip like musicals and operas, as well as over-the-top sightseeing excursions including helicopter tours, they gained access to unique fashion venues not open to the public and customized a fragrance during a perfume workshop. Designers of some of the hottest brands granted them one-on-one time, and a creative couple even invited them to dinner at their home. Chanel and Louis Vuitton were among stores that rolled out the red carpet with true VIP treatment, which culminated in their scoring a Birkin bag at Hermes despite its notorious waiting list.
