Hialeah police on Sunday arrested a 21-year-old man and charged him in the murder of his 17-year-old girlfriend.

Yoan Raul Dominguez, of Miami, faces second-degree charge. He is being held in the Miami-Dade County Jail without bond.

Police said the violence played out Saturday afternoon when Genesis Fonseca was shot and killed at her mother’s Hialeah apartment at 6396 W. 27th Ave. Police said witnesses saw Dominguez running from the apartment.

On Sunday, Hialeah detectives arrested Dominguez in Miami, said police spokesman, Carl Zogby.

The victim and Dominguez lived in Miami and were at the Hialeah apartment visiting Fonseca’s mother, who was not home when her daughter was fatally wounded, Zogby said.

Dominguez had a string of arrests last year on charges ranging from robbery, resisting arrest, battery on the elderly and trespassing after warnings.
