Kidnapped North Miami boys found

Police say two boys kidnapped from North Miami on Monday afternoon have been found and are safe.

Two North Miami boys believed to have been kidnapped by a family friend Monday afternoon were found Tuesday and went home with their mother.

The boys, Daren and Rey Bonilla, were safe and unharmed, according to North Miami police.

A friend of the family, Gennifer Krasner, took the two brothers, ages 3 and 5, from their North Miami home on Monday afternoon.

Charmen Bonilla, the boys’ mother, told police that Krasner did not have her permission to take her children.

A motive for the kidnapping is unclear.

The boys, Bonilla and the alleged kidnapper were interviewed by North Miami police and all were released Tueday afternoon.

“What, if any, charges will be filed right now is unknown,” said police spokesman Neal Cuevas. He said the investigation will continue.

Cuevas said that representatives from the Department of Children & Families were at the police station looking into the case.
