Want to scream for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate? Then show us what you’ve got by entering The Miami Herald Howl-oween contest on Thursday.
We want curdling, hair-raising howls. Think Janet Lee in Psycho, or Drew Barrymore in ET or Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween.
The shrieks can be unleashed Thursday, Oct. 25 from 3 to 6 p.m. when we’re inviting contestants to visit our studio at The Miami Herald, 1 Herald Plaza, and have their scream professionally videotaped to enter the contest. The scream videos will be featured for two-weeks on MiamiHerald.com as the public votes and helps pick the winners.
Others can upload their scream to our contest page here http://hrld.us/howloween.
The contest is open to all ages: babies, teenagers, grandparents. Readers will vote for the spookiest shriek. The screamer with the most votes will win a $100 gift card. Second and third place howlers will get tickets to a local event.
You may wear a Halloween costume or make-up, but it's not required.
Deadline for uploading entries is 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26.
Voting starts at 5:01 p.m. Oct. 26. Winners will be announced at noon on Halloween Day.
