Havana/Miami takes a video-snapshot approach to explore the lives of a dozen Cubans - six each in Havana and Miami ranging from age 12 to 38. This online documentary follows the lives of Cubans on both sides of the Florida Straits pursuing similar dreams under radically different circumstances.

"When you explore the huge cultural and human connection that exists between Miami and Havana, the commonality of people's experiences outweighs their political differences," said Ilan Ziv, an executive producer of the project.

Funded by Arte, the French-German TV network that specializes in arts-and-culture programming, Havana/Miami builds on the success of a previous project, Gaza/Sderot, which explored the lives of ordinary people on both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian border.
