Four-time NBA champion Shaquille O'Neal will compete in a sporting event each week in a new ABC reality series, Shaq Vs., which will debut Aug. 18, the network announced.

Over the course of the series, O'Neal will challenge Olympian Michael Phelps in swimming, Pittsburgh Steeler Ben Roethlisberger in football, Serena Williams in tennis, Oscar de la Hoya in boxing, St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols in baseball and Olympic gold medalists Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor in beach volleyball.

LEGAL FAVORITE

The verdict is in from a 12-member jury of the American Bar Association: L.A. Law topped Perry Mason as the best legal drama in TV history.

Despite a testament to Perry Mason by U.S. Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor during her confirmation hearings last week, the TV drama starring Raymond Burr came in second to the series depicting the fictional Los Angeles firm of McKenzie, Brackman, Chaney & Kuzak.

Rounding out the top five are The Defenders, Law & Order and The Practice.
