Going out to watch football doesn't have to mean eating greasy bar food. Here are three places that offer a wider selection to go with their wide screens.

If you're looking for a sports bar without all the craziness, this out-of-the-way spot might be just the ticket. Open a little over a month in the Lauderdale Beachside Hotel, it has taken over the former Damon's Grill.

A-Rod serious about selling Coral Gables manse

Alex Rodriguez really wants to unload his South Florida crib.

The Yankee slugger/third baseman, who just helped his team win the World Series, has slashed the price of his Coral Gables mansion.

No word if A-Rod will be shacking up with galpal Kate Hudson soon (they've been spotted house hunting in both NYC and California) or maybe he just wants to put the past behind him already. It seems his ex, Cynthia , has moved on, too. The New York Post reports the mother of his two children was seen holding hands with somebody new.

Teaching the kids to think like a fish -- with help from a Maine expert

''I see it!'' said my 8-year-old son, Nathaniel.

His eyes and finger followed a barely perceptible ripple in the water. There was a fish out there, and he and his 13-year-old brother Danny were after it. Under the guidance of our fishing guru, Chip Gray, they were learning to cast off, reel in and how to ''read'' the waves, interpreting patterns on the water's surface to figure out where the fish were.

Catching anything was almost beside the point; this was about the art and fun of the hunt. It was something I wanted my children to experience, but I hadn't been fishing myself since I was about 10, so I needed an expert to help.

Adult shakes and burgers

Miami burger fiends have a new outlet for their seared-meat cravings. Located in the old Ouzo South Beach spot in the booming restaurant row off Purdy Avenue, Burger & Beer Joint on Bay Road follows the recession-friendly dining wave.

In addition to the raucous restaurant with high-backed booths and a bustling bar, there's also a neighboring sports bar with flat screens and graffiti walls and an upstairs lounge with bordello furniture and crystal chandeliers. Noise levels border on cacophonous with a soundtrack that veers from thrash metal to rock classics. Reservations are a good idea; waits can last up to an hour.

The grub is burgers, fried food and more burgers. Executive chef Carlos Barillas shows gourmet flair with American Kobe beef, foie-gras toppings and optional truffle oil for your shoestring fries. Burgers average $10; starters are $6-$9 and beers are $6. You could pretend to go healthy by starting with a Mediterranean salad with feta and watercress or just get straight to the artery-

Ginuwine, DMX party it up

Hitmakers Ginuwine and DMX like it hot and humid. The duo were spotted living it up in South Beach this past weekend.

R&B hottie Ginuwine performed live at the Fifth, and Ride or Die bad boy DMX threw his own bash hosted by Micha Entertainment and held at Sobe Live.

At his party, sexy crooner Ginuwine -- who sported a tan suit -- made the ladies melt when he sang his hits Pony and In Those Jeans.
