Diwali: South Asia in South Florida

Sweets, above, and savory snacks are integral to Diwali, India's festival of lights, which takes place Saturday. Here are ways to celebrate:

Bengali Association of South Florida's Diwali Party: 7 p.m.-midnight Saturday, Palace Indian Cuisine, 11422 W. State Rd. 84, Davie; $20 members, $25 others, kids under 12 free. Includes three-course meal, DJ and dance show. sf.bengali@gmail.com, www.basfl.org.

Merchants of Sindhi Association's Diwali Day Celebration: 7-11 p.m. Saturday, Fire Tower, 8000 NW 21st St., Doral; children 5-17 $15, adults $20, kids under 5 free at the door. Includes food and fireworks show.
