The cozy upstairs bar at Sra. Martinez, Michelle Bernstein's Design District tapas spot, is a lab for inventive cocktails like the Mulata Daiquiri, a delightfully frothy rum drink with a lime tang.
D.I.Y.
Mulata Daiquiri: Combine 2 ounces rum (Atlantico preferred), 1 ounce fresh-squeezed lime juice and ½ ounce simple syrup in an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake; strain into a chilled goblet. Top with a foam made by shaking the same ingredients plus 2 egg whites in the shaker. Garnish with a lime wheel.
F.Y.I.
The Mulata Daiquiri is about $14 at Sra. Martinez, 4000 NE Second Ave., Miami; 305-573-5474.
