Wine dinners at China Grill, Lola's, Michy's
China Grill and Kobe Club Miami, 404 Washington Ave., Miami Beach, host a six-course, bring-your-own-wine dinner Thursday that begins with a 7:30 p.m. vodka reception and moves on to such dishes as macadamia-crusted mahi mahi and braised Mongolian-style short rib. Lola's on Harrison, 2032 Harrison St., Hollywood, launches a regional American cooking series 5-7 p.m. Sunday with New England. On the menu: a cooking demonstration by chef Michael Wagner and three-course meal -- scallop chowder, Yankee pot roast with squash and root vegetables, maple cheesecake -- with wine or beer. Coming up: Mid Atlantic region, Nov. 29; Southern Gulf, Dec. 20; Southwest, Jan. 31; Pacific Northwest, Feb. 28; Southeast, March 28. Michy's, 6927 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, hosts a ``California Girls'' wine dinner at 7 p.m. Wednesday showcasing dishes created by Traci des Jardin, Suzanne Goin, Judy Rogers and Nancy Sliverton with wines by Mia Klein (Selene), Robin Lail (Lail), Heidi Barrett (Fantesca) and Kristin Belair (Honig). Cost is $90, and reservations are required; 305-759-2001.
