Newly open: Talavera, Taj Mahal, Anthonys in Miami Lakes

Talavera, a Mexican restaurant from the folks behind the Grove's Jaguar Ceviche, opened for lunch and dinner daily this week at 2299 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Coral Gables. An announcement describes executive chef Oscar Del Rivero's menu as traditional Mexican with a twist, and boasts that no item is more than $18; 305-444-2955, www.talaveraspot.com.

Taj Mahal, an Indian-Chinese restaurant, has opened at 10101 Sunset Strip in Sunrise's Nob Hill Place Plaza. You may want to give it a week or two before stopping in, as they don't expect to be licensed to serve beer -- the only proper accompaniment to vindaloo -- until November; 954-746-5161.

Anthonys Coal Fired Pizza has opened its 20th location at 15492 NW 77th Ct., in Miami Lakes' Royal Oaks Plaza; 305-558-3950.
