Eat well, do good for March of Dimes and more

The 12th annual March of Dimes Signature Chefs & Wine Extravaganza takes place Thursday at Jungle Island, featuring the talents of more than 30 South Florida chefs led by chair Cindy Hutson of Ortanique on the Mile. Pleasures of the Palate, a four-course dinner and wine auction benefiting the Diabetes Research Institute, takes place at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Emeril's Miami Beach, 1601 Collins Ave. Tickets are $250, and reservations are required; 954-964-4040.

Village Tavern at The Shops at Pembroke Gardens, 14555 SW Second St., Pembroke Pines, is donating $2 from the sale of each $7.50 Hope-tini cocktail to breast cancer research through Oct. 31; 954-874-1001.
