William Shatner's got the right chops for his current gig -- talking.

For years, the Canadian actor best known for his role as Capt. James T. Kirk on the original Star Trek has been mimicked -- Kevin Pollack, for one, does a memorable impersonation. Now at 78 (believe it), Shatner is talking up a storm.

Shatner's Raw Nerve on A&E's Biography Channel just got picked up for Season 3.

The former Boston Legal star stopped into Miami as part of a publicity blitz to promote the fact that Nerve is going semiglobal, to several Latin American countries.

Shatner just wrapped filming for Season 2, which begins at 10 p.m. Dec. 6. His guests run the Hollywood gamut -- from Jerry Springer to Mackenzie Phillips.

``I've had a lot of wonderful guests,'' said Shatner from the Four Seasons Hotel in Miami last week. ``One day, I interviewed Rush Limbaugh and Larry Flynt. One in the morning, one in the afternoon. It was interesting to see the two opposite ends of this pole they are climbing. What a day.''

Shatner's style is more Oprah than Dave -- he sits opposite his guests on an S-shaped couch in a quiet living room-like set and asks deep questions. He even got Jimmy Kimmel to tear up when they were discussing the late-night host's divorce.

But just because his show is going to

Spanish-speaking places (think Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Venezuela and Puerto Rico), don't expect Shatner to talk the talk.

``My little español is so little that my espan doesn't get quite to my ñol,'' he deadpanned. But, then, you've got to give a guy props for trying -- ``Muy poco español -- practicale nada.''

Shatner's other gig -- making fun of Sarah Palin's would-be son-in-law Levi Johnston. He recently appeared on Conan O'Brien reading aloud the Playgirl model's bordering-on-ludicrous Tweets. Shatner's favorite: ``I smell like a French whore.''

Would he want Levi as a guest? Hmm.

``He could be interesting, but I'm not sure how verbal he is,'' Shatner replied diplomatically.

More news: Shatner's figure (as Kirk) was recently cast into wax at the famed Madame Tussaud's in London. ``I was beside myself when I was there,'' the Priceline pitchman joked, adding, ``There was wax in my dummy's ears.''

As for rumors he'll have a part in the Star Trek sequel (he was passed over for the last one), he would not be averse.

``That comes as news to me,'' he said. ``If you could write that up, put a couple of clauses in there -- contract, salary, time -- I would really enjoy signing that.''
