Avs forward Hejduk to miss 2-4 weeks

Colorado Avalanche forward Milan Hejduk will have arthroscopic surgery on his knee and is expected to miss 2-4 weeks, the club announced Sunday.

Hejduk, who has 15 goals and 30 points in 40 games this season, missed Saturday's 3-1 win over New Jersey with the injury.

Nets' Harris to return Saturday

New Jersey Nets guard Devin Harris is expected to return Saturday against the Knicks.

Harris has missed the last 10 games for the winless Nets with a nagging groin injury. The Nets, who are 0-12 this season, will bring the All-Star guard off the bench, according to the team's website.

The six-year veteran came into his own last year with career-high averages of 21.3 points and 6.9 assists in 69 games with New Jersey.

Giants CB Ross questionable, could return

New York Giants cornerback Aaron Ross is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Atlanta and could make his season debut.

Ross, who was a limited participant in practice all week, has yet to play this year because of a nagging hamstring injury. The former first-round draft pick had played 15 games in each of his first two years, recording three interceptions in each season.

Terrell Thomas and Corey Webster have split time at cornerback in Ross' absence.

E.W. Scripps names new audit and compliance VP

E.W. Scripps Co., a newspaper and TV station owner, said Wednesday it has promoted Mark L. Koors to vice president of audit and compliance.

Koors, 46, has been with the company for more than a decade, most recently as director of the company's treasury management.

In his new role he succeeds Mike Hales, who was recently named vice president of finance and administration for the company's newspaper unit.

Latin America has high hopes for Obama

On April 17, the 34 democratically-elected leaders of the Western Hemisphere will meet in Trinidad and Tobago for the fifth Summit of the Americas. The star of the show will be President Barak Obama, who has promised an improved U.S. relationship with Latin America and the Caribbean.
