Rihanna: I was blinded by love
Rihanna feels ashamed for going back to ex-boyfriend Chris Brown after he left her bruised and battered during a February assault, and warns other women facing domestic violence to not let themselves be blinded by love.
``It's completely normal to go back. You start lying to yourself,'' the 21-year-old singer said on Good Morning America in her first TV interview since the attack. ``I'll say that to any young girl who is going through domestic violence: `Don't react off of love.' ''
ABC will air more of the interview on Friday's Good Morning America and Friday night's 20/20.
As for Brown, 20, he's working on getting his career back on track, with a music video, fan-appreciation concert tour and album due next month. He'll take a hard look back on what happened that February night during MTV's Chris Brown: The Interview, airing 6 p.m. Friday.
MARIAH: ME TOO
In related news, Mariah Carey admitted to Larry King that she was also abused, hinting it was at the hands of ex-husband Tommy Mottola.
The Obsessed singer, 40, said on Wednesday night's show that she could empathize with Rihanna.
``Abuse has several categories. Emotionally, mentally, in other ways. I just think you get into a situation and you feel locked in,'' said Carey. ``For me, to really get out, it was difficult because there was a connection that was not only a marriage but a business thing where the person was in control of my life.''
SHOW CAN'T GO ON
Boyz II Men's Shawn Stockman is the latest celebrity to contract swine flu, causing him to cancel a Soul Train Music Awards performance this week, CNN reports.
``We tour eight months out of the year, and we are always traveling around,'' fellow band mate Wanya Morris told the network. Stockman was unable to fly to Atlanta on Tuesday for the group's scheduled performance at the Soul Train Music Awards, airing Nov. 29 on BET. ``It's hectic for us always being in airplanes and airports . . . it hit him pretty hard.''
PARTY TIME
After the Yankees won their 27th World Series Thursday night, sluggers Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter hit the town with their respective girlfriends Kate Hudson and Minka Kelly, reports UsWeekly.com. The group got to Chelsea hotspot 10ak around 2 a.m. and partied until 5 a.m., except for Hudson, who left after about a half-hour.
Maybe she was tired from all that cheering from the sidelines.
