Chris Brown to appear for Best Buddies

WEB VOTE Do you think Chris Brown brings shame to the Miami gala?

And you thought Chris Brown's Fan Appreciation Tour was tacky. We received word that Rihanna's abuser is headlining the 13th Annual Best Buddies Miami Gala on Watson Island on Nov. 20. The gala, hosted by BB founder Anthony Kennedy Shriver, is also said to feature a motley slew of celebs, from Verne ``Mini Me'' Troyer and Maureen ``Marcia Brady'' McCormick, to Lisa ``Lips'' Rinna and Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis. Which is totally cool, but Brown? Well, Ike Turner wasn't available because he's dead.

Every so often a celebrity gets bored with him/herself and channels an alter ego. Madonna had Esther. Mariah had Mimi. Garth had Chris Gaines. Even the Real Housewives of Atlanta did it. And now, we introduce to you the artist formerly known as Jennifer Lopez, J-Lo and Jenny from the Block, who will emerge from the bowels of the Fontainebleau on Saturday night to appear as Lola at LIV. Lola will perform her debut single, Fresh Out of the Oven, along with Pitbull. A grand entrance is expected in the wee hours of Sunday morning. Doesn't Lola need her beauty sleep for her other alter ego -- Miami Dolphins owner -- on Sunday?

Did Ocean Drive just get a whole lot cooler? Page Six reports that Francis Ford Coppola bought a place at The Villas at Cafe Milano. We wondered if the director bought the place as part of his luxury-resort collection, which currently has properties in Belize, Guatemala, Argentina, New Orleans, Italy and, as its website says, coming soon a ``South Beach Loft.'' But his publicist tells us no. ``Currently Mr. Coppola does own a condo in that building, but he doesn't own the restaurant or any of the other condo spaces. It's just a nice place for him to stop and spend a few days when he's on his way to South America, where he's been spending a lot of time lately.''

Spotted: Gene Simmons, his tongue still in working order, jamming with his fellow KISS members at BankAtlantic Thursday night.

Seen bagging his own groceries at Publix on Monday: award-winning thespian Michael Caine. At Cafe Prima Pasta on Thursday night: Michael Jordan and girlfriend Yvette Prieto. Jordan had a double order of vegetable-stuffed ravioli and chicken parmigiana, finishing off with strawberries and chocolate mousse cake.

Our apologies to KNR partner Nicola Schon, whose name was omitted in Tuesday's column when we wrote about the company's NYC restaurant and bar ventures at the Trump SoHo.
