Bill Clinton indulges in a little Me Time

After his speech as U.N. special envoy to Haiti at the Americas Conference in Coral Gables on Tuesday, former President Bill Clinton went to Acqualina Resort & Spa in Sunny Isles Beach, where he was seen smoking a cigar while waiting for an al fresco table. He was served food from Il Mulino, the Miami branch of the NYC restaurant where he recently dined with President Barack Obama. Clinton, who dined with an unidentified male, ate a simple pasta dish with tomato sauce and cheesecake for dessert. Not exactly dietetic. Clinton will make an appearance at the New York City Wine & Food Festival's Weight Watchers Presents Fun and Fit in the City on Oct. 10 at the Harlem Children's Zone.

In town for the Metallica show Thursday at the BankAtlantic Center, the legendary metal band's lead singer James Hetfield was seen listening to some less headbanging live music at Jazid on Wednesday night.

Miami fashion designer Fabiola Arias has been selected to participate in the 2nd Annual SHINMAI Creator's Project as one of four designers to show her fall 2010 collection at Japan's Fashion Week in Tokyo in March 2010.

Good news for Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Lenny Hochstein. The $564,555 default judgment awarded to former patient and centerfold Monica Hansen in July for unlawful usage of her image on his website, was lifted in a Los Angeles courtroom on Wednesday. But the case isn't over yet: Hochstein's team filed a motion for the case to be moved to Florida because that's where Hochstein practices, and that's where he performed all those tweaks on Hansen, who also used to live in Miami.

Izod and the Indy Racing League invite the public to the IndyCar Series Championship Party on Saturday at the W South Beach. The all-day affair begins at 3 p.m. with a Miami Lifeguards vs. IndyCar Series Drivers volleyball competition featuring Dan Wheldon, Tony Kanaan, Raphael Matos and Ryan Hunter-Reay, continuing with a Hot Wheels Car competition, Izod, swimwear fashion show, and culminating with a 9:30 concert by N.E.R.D. with Pharrell Williams. All activities are free and open to the public.

The Dolphins keep losing, but that doesn't diminish the star power of the team's glitzy new minority shareholders club. Developer Jorge Perez (not an owner -- yet) will join co-owners Marc Anthony and Emilio Estefan as well as ESPN Deportes at Club 50 at his Viceroy Hotel on Oct. 11 to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Party, by invite only, takes place from 7-10 p.m. and will feature a performance by Jesse & Joy, the Latin Grammy-award winning Mexican pop duo.
