CELEBRITY ROUNDUP

Eddie Cibrian's marriage is over

Eddie Cibrian is now free to be with rumored mistress LeAnn Rimes.

Wifey Brandi Glanville told UsWeekly she is done.

"I want to do what is best for our children. Eddie and LeAnn deserve each other,'' the model and mother of his two kids told the magazine.

The final straw? When Cibrian and the also-married country singer were spotted together last week. The mag reports the two have been secretly seeing each other with the help of a pal, who's been letting them use his L.A. pad for liaisons.

Cibrian doesn't want to throw in the towel, as evidenced by a statement from his manager: ``Apparently the press wishes to continue to play out Eddie Cibrian's domestic situation publicly with an unfair flair of tabloid fervor. Eddie is a devoted and loving father first and foremost and the speed bump he and Brandi are experiencing needs to be worked out privately for everyone's benefit.''

KIEFER IN THE CLEAR

Kiefer Sutherland is a free bird.

The Manhattan district attorney's spokeswoman said Tuesday that misdemeanor assault charges against the 24 star are being dropped because the alleged victim wouldn't cooperate with prosecutors.

Sutherland was charged in May after Jack McCollough said the actor head-butted him and broke his nose in a Manhattan nightclub after the fashion designer allegedly bumped into Brooke Shields.

SINGLE NO MORE

That was fast. Weeks after announcing his split with wife No. 3, Katie Lee Joel, Billy Joel is back out there. Page Six has the Piano Man dating Alex Donnelley, who used to be on The Young and The Restless (she played Diane Jenkins).

Donnelley must like musicians -- she was formerly married to Robert Lamm of Chicago fame.

At least Joel, 60, and Donnelley, 49, are more in sync age-wise. Katie is 27 years his junior.

But maybe he should lay off marriage this time. His nine-year union to Christie Brinkley, the mother of his daughter Alexa, ended in 1994. His first marriage, to Elizabeth Weber, also dissolved after nine years.

Not sure how Joel is fitting in the romance -- he's currently on tour with Elton John.

SHE KNOWS SHE CAN

Katie Holmes will show off her dancing moves 9 p.m. Thursday. You can see her on Fox's So You Think You Can Dance, celebrating its 100th episode.

Holmes' number is a version of Judy Garland's Get Happy and she'll donate the salary from her performance to The Dizzy Feet Foundation, a nonprofit.

This is not the first time Holmes has hoofed it -- remember Eli Stone?

ON THE MEND

Shaunie O'Neal was taken to an Orlando hospital Tuesday after a car accident, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

A guy slammed into the back of her town car as she was on the way to the airport. David Wasserman, 18, of Ocoee, received a ticket for careless driving. As for Shaunie, she took to Twitter to express herself: ``[I'm] super sore . . . but I'm good.''

She also joked that ``Dr. Shaq'' was helping her recuperate at home.

FUNERAL ADVISORY

Walker Cronkite's funeral is being held at 2 p.m. Thursday at his longtime church, St. Bartholomew's. Wife Betsy's funeral was held there in 2005. CBS News will air the service.

The longtime newsman's ashes will be laid to rest next to his wife in a family plot in Kansas City, Mo., where the two first met.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Walter and Betsy Cronkite Foundation through AustinCommunityFoundation.org, which will distribute contributions to various charities they supported.

A public memorial is to be held within the next month in Avery Fisher Hall at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York, CBS reported.

AT LAST . . .

The Millionaire Matchmaker has found her match. Bravo reality star Patti Stanger announced she is engaged to beau Andy Friedman.

Stanger, 48, has been dating the a 51-year-old real estate executive for more than five years.

They met through -- yup -- a matchmaker.
