Just in time for Halloween, Anthony Daniels is taking off the costume.

You may have a hard time recognizing the actor, but then you hear that unmistakable voice . . . It's C-3PO.

``I have been this mysterious figure for so long,'' says the 63-year-old Englishman who has played the quirky translation droid for all six Star Wars movies, starting in 1977. ``Now people will have a chance to see my face on a screen 80 feet across.''

Daniels is referring to Star Wars: In Concert, playing at BankAtlantic Center Friday night. He wears a narrator's hat -- and dapper black suit -- in this multimedia two-hour spectacle which includes stunning visuals; a choir and 86-piece orchestra playing John Williams' epic scores, and an exhibit of props, production artwork and costumes (yes, C-3P0's gold suit is there).

``It's utterly magical,'' says the former stage actor. ``And John's music is so complex and wonderful. You really see the workings of all the instruments -- the French oboe, the violin, the horn.''

When the actor first donned the clunky outfit 32 years ago, he had no idea of the success the franchise would have.

``I thought it was a hokey little movie,'' admits Daniels, who is the only actor to have appeared in all the films. ``I am amazed to think all these years later that I'm almost the spokesperson. Other characters have become digital or died off. I'm thoroughly a Star Wars person, and I love it.''
