Romance in a Can Film Festival schedule

Screenings of romantic comedies with a special emphasis on European films at various venues Feb. 10-24. Films are $15, $12 students with ID and Red Chemistry and Miami Beach Cinematheque members, unless otherwise noted. • Toute la beauté du Monde, opening film is a French movie about a man who falls in love with a woman who is recovering from the recent death of her husband. In French with English subtitles: 7 p.m. cocktail reception, 8 p.m. screening Feb. 10; Maison d'Azur at the Anglers Hotel, 660 Washington Ave., Miami Beach; $10.

• Screening of silent Dutch film False Waltz and Belgian film The Perfect Match, by the pool: 7 p.m. complimentary hors d'oeuvres, 8 p.m. screening Feb. 11; Circa 39, 3900 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; $10 suggested minimum donation.

• Il mio miglior Nemico, screening of 2006 Italian film about a man who wants to avenge his mother's firing at a hotel on suspicion of theft. In Italian with English subtitles: 7 p.m. hors d'oeuvres and wine tasting Feb. 12 followed by screening; COLONY; $25 for film and cocktails, $20 students.

• Atlas de la geografía humana, screening of Spanish film based on the novel by Almudena Grandes: 7 p.m. Feb. 13; COLONY.

• Year of the Wolf, Finnish film about a literature student who struggles with epilepsy and distances herself from the world in fear of new attacks. In Finnish with English subtitles: 8:45 p.m. Feb. 13; COLONY.

• Girl Shy, 1924 U.S. film about a shy bachelor who falls in love with a rich girl who is already engaged to another man. Includes a musical performance and a wine tasting: 8:30 p.m. Feb. 14; MBC. $20.

• Le Coeur des hommes, French film about four modern male friends who are at a turning point in their lives. In French with English subtitles: 7 p.m. wine tasting, 8 p.m. screening Feb. 14. ALLIANCE. $20, $15 AF members.

• Du bist nicht allein!, German film about the lives and problems of people living together in an apartment complex. In German with English subtitles: 7 p.m., Feb. 14;The Wolfsonian-FIU, 1001 Washington Ave., Miami Beach; $10.

• Shake It All, Dutch film about a gay man who becomes engaged to his partner and then falls in love with his partner's sister. In Danish with English subtitles: 9 p.m. Feb. 14, Maison d'Azur at Anglers Hotel-Miami Beach, 660 Washington Ave., Miami Beach; film is free, dinner is $28-$36.

• Thicker than Water, family drama film about a man with a pregnant wife who discovers that he isn't the biological father of their 10-year-old son. In English: 8:45 p.m. Feb. 18; MUTINY; $10.

• Move Competition at Miami International Design School, screening of short movies by film students: 8 p.m. Feb. 19; 1501 Biscayne Blvd., Miami; free.

• Short Movie Competition at D.A.S.H., screenings of film by students: 7 p.m. complimentary hors d'oeuvres, 8 p.m. screenings Feb. 20; D.A.S.H at Soyka's, 5456 NE Fourth Ct., Miami; free.

• Yom Yom, film about a middle-aged Israeli man and his issues with his health, parents and relationships. In Hebrew with English subtitles: 8:30 p.m. Feb. 21; MBC.

• Dol, the Valley of Tambourines, film about an engaged couple whose wedding ceremony is ruined when a fight breaks out between Turkish soldiers and Kurdish guerrilla fighters. Kurdish with English subtitles: 7 p.m. happy hour, 8 p.m. screening, 10 p.m. belly dancing performance Feb. 22; Wallflower Gallery, 10 NE Third St., Miami; $15.

• The Garden of Earthly Delights, film abut the relationship between a maritime pioneer and an art historian who discovers that she has cancer. In Polish with English subtitles: 7:15 p.m. Feb. 23; Byron Carlyle Theater, 500 71st St., Miami Beach.

• Reds, closing film about the life of American journalist John Reed who chronicled the Russian Revolution in Ten Days that Shook the World: 7:30 p.m. Feb. 24; Colony Theater, 1040 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach.
