Ocean Drive magazine hosted its “Art of The City” event Wednesday with featured artist Peter Tunney, who made a grand entrance into his Wynwood Walls gallery on a custom scooter. The NYC/Miami artist — whose Wynwood gallery was also where the art was created for this month’s cover — was filled with local luminaries clamoring to bid on Tunney’s Giant Giant Polaroid artwork of “Cailin,” which is available through the glossy magazine’s Art of The City national charity auction open until Monday at https://paddle8.com/auction/artofthecity/. All proceeds benefit Artists for Peace and Justice.
Rapper and record producer Bryan “Birdman” Williams had dinner Tuesday at Seaspice with a group of 20. His rumored girlfriend, singer Toni Braxton, was not spotted. Arriving after midnight by boat, well after the kitchen was closed, Birdman was able to convince executive Chef Angel Leon to cook some food, saying it was his favorite restaurant. Leon obliged and was able to whip up a feast for the hungry bunch. Birdman showed his gratitude by leaving the server what we're told was a HUGE tip.
Magician David Blaine was spotted dining Sunday at Makoto. The illustionist and master breathholder (17 minutes and 4.4 seconds) dined with friends and enjoyed some of the Japanese restaurant’s most-decadent items, including wagyu, Toro and uni. No champagne for the crew, though; instead they sipped green tea. Blaine apparently had a great time and made a reservation to return before “disappearing.” Heh.
Disney Channel star Cierra Ramirez (“The Fosters”) was spotted with actor-boyfriend Jeff Wittek on Sunday at The Deck at Island Gardens where Ramirez previewed the fall collections for Miami-based swim and resort designer Bianca Coletti and boho luxe brand Soul of a Hippie (SOAH). She even took a turn posing on the catwalk.
Never miss a local story.
