We should all have as much energy as Kevin Hart. Despite being up early for a Despierta America appearance Wednesday and attending his Ride Along 2 premiere later in the evening, the comedian celebrated until the wee hours at Mokai Lounge. In the company of his fiancée, stunner Eniko Parrish, the funnyman partied at a VIP table drinking Ciroc and shouting out to fans from the DJ booth; Young Jeezy was also in the house.
Also in town for the Ride Along 2 premiere, Olivia Munn ran into an old high school friend who happens to be a Miami police officer now. The actress, who was born in Oklahoma City and attended Putnam City North High School, wrote on Instagram Saturday: “At 16, I was the new girl and ate lunch by myself in the library every day. Yesterday, this Miami police officer stopped me and said he thinks we went to school together. Back in high school he was a skater and had long hair but I’d recognize those cheeks anywhere! Andrew Markowitz was the first person [to] befriend me. We were library aides and after watching me eat lunch alone for about a month, he came up and asked why I didn’t eat in the cafeteria like everyone else. I told him it was because I didn’t have anyone to sit with and being in a room full of people with no one to sit with was more lonely than sitting by myself in an empty library. After that day, he started eating his lunch with me. Thank you Andrew — Sergeant Markowitz — for being my only friend so long ago. Next time I’m in Miami, lunch is on me.”
Rosie Perez was seen Thursday checking in to Hotel Beaux Arts Miami, in town to be honored at Saturday’s YoungArts Backyard Ball Performance and Gala. Also seen at the Beaux Arts was American experimental theater stage director and playwright, Robert Wilson.
Academy Award winner (set director: Hugo, Sweeney Todd, The Aviator) Francesca Lo Schiavo and her husband Dante Ferretti had dinner Thursday at Mio Mare on Española Way. The couple is good friends with the Italian restaurant’s owner, Claudio Giordano.
Martin Dempsey, retired U.S. Army general who served as the 18th chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, had dinner Sunday at Prime 112.
EPIC in downtown Miami is the place where celebs including Glenn Close and up-and-coming starlet Alexis Atkins (Ted 2) rested their famous heads. Close was seen last week having morning coffee and tea in the hotel’s lobby. Atkins was apparently feeling meh last Monday and took to Instagram to show off her in-room get-well amenity of “organic everything.” Jennifer Lopez, about a week before her head-turning display in yellow at Sunday night’s Golden Globes, relaxed on her balcony with boyfriend Casper Smart, according to her Instagram account.
At EPIC’s South Beach sibling, The Angler’s, CNBC anchor Brian Sullivan (Power Lunch, Taking Numbers) was seen having dinner Tuesday at the hotel’s restaurant, 660 Anglers.
