The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show kicked off with a bang Thursday.
Miami Beach internet marketers J.R. and Loren Ridinger announced through a New York public relations agency that they bought a behemoth of a yacht from Italian boat show exhibitor Rossinavi.
The society couple and founders of Market America said they made the Tuscan boatyard’s Vector yacht, which is still under construction, their biggest purchase on water yet.
The sleek, futuristic yacht boasts 203.41 feet of sheer luxury that, at times, is reminiscent of a minimalistic Miami Beach Art Deco interior.
Never miss a local story.
The ship has a master suite with a private Jacuzzi as well five other guest staterooms, two outdoor swimming pools and a terrace that offers panoramic views through floor-to-ceiling windows.
For you boaters, this puppy can cruise comfortably at speeds of 15 to 28 knots thanks to four, 2,600-horsepower engines.
Yep, four: Think tri-deck motoryacht with cigarette boat handling!
Ever the humble couple, the Ridingers didn’t want to say how much they paid. But this much is known about Rossinavi yachts: The company has a 158-foot boat on sale right now for $27 million.
The Ridingers expect delivery of their new yacht in 2018.
In a statement, JR said the vessel will be “ideally suited for shallow water navigation needed around Miami Beach, where she’ll live.”
