VELVET UNDERGOUND

Halloween in clubland's a real treat

lank@aol.com

This weekend almost every haunt in town -- with the exception of your corner gas station -- is throwing an All Hallow's Eve event.

Those panicking over the dearth of single, eligible suitors should consider Single & Fabulous' Halloween-inspired evening, Fatal Attraction, at 8 p.m. Friday at Club 50 at the Viceroy. Expect free ``fatal concoctions'' compliments of Stoli from 8-10 p.m., and, from what we've been told, a killer singles' scene. To RSVP, e-mail Tiffany@FabulousAlways.com.

The Ritz Carlton South Beach throws its first Full Moon Costume Party Saturday at the DiLido Beach Club, where costumes are preferred but not required and Luna cocktails are $7. DJ Edwin Adams will spin world lounge music, and former Top Chef contestant Jeff McInnis will prepare stuff that tastes way better than stale Tootsie Rolls. Party goes from 7-11 p.m., no cover.

For something really freaky, consider what's going on near Wynwood from 8 p.m. to midnight at a place called O.H.W.O.W. (Our House West of Wynwood), 3100 NW Seventh Ave., where the enigmatic artist Neck Face will unveil his solo exhibition, Devil's Disciple. In addition, the artist will import his family's collection of haunted house props to create a bona fide creep house. (They say that anyone with a heart condition or weak stomach should not attend.) There's also a skate demo by Baker and Deathwish, and a Poplife after-party at the Electric Pickle until 5 a.m. featuring Busy P, Simon Curtis, The Goat and more. Party is free; afterparty is $15.

If that's too scary, consider The Official Playboy Magazine South Beach Halloween Party at the Shore Club featuring a slew of guest playmates spanning a five-year period and a bevy of scantily clad women who never made the actual pages of the magazine. Dress code goes without saying, but the invitation speaks volumes: ``Dress bloody sexy.'' Shenanigans begin at 9 p.m. with an open bar until 11; tickets -- reduced from a whopping $225 to a reasonable $75 -- at www.playboyhalloweenparty.com or 888-313-TIXX.

Along a similar circuit in Wynwood at the Awarehouse, 550 NW 29th St., a campy homage to Marilyn Chambers and John Holmes (retro-smut circa 1972) called The Other Hollywood, with live music, DJs, vintage porn and an open bar by Leblon from 10 p.m. til 3 a.m.; $20. www.theotherhollywood1972.com.

At MIA downtown, it's the Freaky Circus: A Night at the Moulin Rouge, Friday and Saturday with free Bacardi ``Zombie Cocktails'' and ``Bat Bites'' from 10-11 p.m., showgirls and costume contests. Tickets $25 in advance, $30 at the door; 305-642-0032.

``Haunted Honeymoon'' is the theme at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Leonard Hochstein, 1647 North View Dr., whose party is a benefit for the Humane Society of Greater Miami Adopt-A-Pet. A minimum $50 donation is required of all male guests. DJ Julian Ingrosso spins, with after-party at Mynt Lounge. Party starts at 10 p.m. Parking is extremely limited, so cab it.

The Raleigh's Cat's Meow party on Saturday will transform the newly sold hotel into a 1920s speakeasy lounge paying homage to all things Prohibition-related but with booze. A $20 ticket also gets you one premium cocktail. Party goes from 9 p.m. til 3 a.m. To purchase, e-mail ttreland@raleighhotel.com.

For an homage to slasher and horror flicks, The Reel Horror Ball at Ecco, 168 SE First St., is the place to be with open bar from 9-11 p.m. and DJs Miguel G and Supreme 1. Tickets are $30 for women, $40 for men and can be purchased at www.wantickets.com/realhorrorball.

Finally, the Viceroy has a masquerade party on the 15th floor pool deck with top shelf open bar for five hours, fashion show, hors d'oeuvres and a performance by Fabian Alexander. Party starts at 7 and entry is a $50 minimum donation with proceeds going to the Heart Menders Organization, which finds heart transplants for underprivileged children.
